Earl has 25 years of pastoral experience and received his Ph.D. degree from Pensacola Christian College. During his 20 year pastoral tenure in Bracebridge, Ontario, Canada, Earl was involved as a chaplain at the Muskoka Centre, was administrator and instructor for the London Baptist Bible College Satellite Campus, and became the founding president of A Word in Season Ministries, a devotional newspaper column and radio ministry. After serving the Lord and enjoying his family, Earl’s favourite pastime is fishing the lakes of his home area of beautiful Muskoka.

Throughout their marriage, Kathi has been closely involved in the ministry at the churches where Earl has been pastor, ministering mainly to children in Sunday School and AWANA as well as training teachers for their own ministry. For ten summers Kathi was a counselor at the Ontario Scholarship Camp of AWANA. Recently retired from more than 30 years teaching, Kathi looks forward to spending more time with her family.

In January 2003, Earl and Kathi joined the Association of Baptists for World Evangelism (known in Canada as Across Borders for World Evangelism). Earl labours as an international professor of theological education. His responsibilities include training pastors by writing culturally relevant Bible College and Seminary curriculum, developing student manuals for these courses, and teaching the curriculum in a two to four week modular course format at various ABWE affiliated schools around the world. Earl has had the privilege of teaching pastors in Ghana, Togo, Cameroon, Trinidad, India and Romania. Although Kathi has not often travelled with Earl due to her Christian School teaching commitment in Canada, she assists him in editing course manuals and ministry presentations while continuing to teach in Canada. She is also involved with providing care for Earl’s elderly mother who lives with them.

In 2007 Earl and Kathi were appointed as the International Theological Education Representatives for ABWE Canada. This expanded their ministry by representing the ABWE Canada’s International Theological Educational focus primarily at local churches on weekends when Earl is home, as well as at Bible schools throughout Canada upon invitation. Nevertheless, they are still primarily involved in curriculum development and teaching throughout the ABWE mission world
.
Since 2012 Earl has concentrated his teaching primarily in Cameroon where help was desperately needed. He teaches at the Cameroon Biblical Seminary each January, May and September. Earl was asked to develop the Doctor of Ministry program for this Seminary in 2014 with a goal of commencing the program in 2017. In November, Earl travels to other schools such as Beacon Baptist Seminary in India and the Bible Institute throughout Romania. Also in 2014, ABWE Canada approved a Canadian ‘home’ element to Earl’s teaching mandate by starting the Muskoka Church Ministries Institute. This is a once per week evening class with internet class opportunity available in the fall, winter and spring, between Earl’s trips abroad.
